gravyCAKE Productions unveils episode 2 of ‘i am QUEER in BROOKLYN,’ a web-based docu-series about the lives, passion and flair of queers living in Brooklyn, New York. This episode features indie songstress Adrienne Mack-Davis of Bushwick, Brooklyn.

“The way people are ingesting entertainment is changing” says co-creator Alex Lloyd. “Creating a web-series promoting people of racial and sexual backgrounds that you wouldn’t normally see on network television is radical and freeing because you are maintaining creative control, thus shaping these images with authenticity.”

At the core, ‘i am QUEER in BROOKLYN’ follows those who are creating differently, loving enormously, living wildly or barely surviving, hustling, grinding, coming out, discovering themselves, taking chances, impacting, influencing and changing the world around them through their artistry, musicianship, fashioning and lifestyle. All participants sit comfortably under the LGBTAQ (lesbian, gay, bi, trans, allies/androgynous/asexual, queer) umbrella, embracing one or more terms; sometimes embracing none- which, as gravyCAKE defines it, is queer within itself.

Jorge has an honest conversation with us. He knows first hand what the answer is - and he is not afraid to open up and give his opinion. He is breaking taboos, challenging conventions and shifting paradigms within the Latino community and outside of it. Brave, courageous and up front, Jorge’s answer will surprise you and inspire you.

I’m watching this video for my Contemporary U.S. Immigration class. I thought it was interesting and I should share it with the tumblrverse!
